One of the most common places to hunt is in wooded areas. There are shades of green and black camo that will look much like the wooded area we hunt the most. This forest designs will include leaves, twigs, and branches that will blend into the wooded surrounding. This type of camo can use oak patterns, cypress patterns, piney woods patterns as well as patterns that will match the time of the year you are hunting such as the winter when the trees are bare. The time of the year is important because during the early fall hunting seasons there are leaves and cover still on the trees in the south. You will need to choose a camo with a leafy pattern. Later in the hunting season when the trees are bear you will need to change your pattern to match the situation.

Hunters who are located in marshy areas will need to choose a pattern that will look like grass blades as well as grass shadows and reeds. The colors should be green and brown replicating the marshy land areas. Some deer hunters will hunt marshy areas but this landscape is mostly for water fowl hunters such as duck and geese. Be sure to choose the pattern that will most represent the area you are hunting. Some areas will have more reeds than grass and some places will contain more reeds than grass. This is important to know.

Some of the swampy areas where cypress trees and water are located will be a place where you will need to use a woodlands pattern. Remember the right combination of camo will depend on the area you are hunting. Look at your surroundings to be sure to gain the right combination to benefit you.
